A passion drives refinement

I started riding horses when I was six years old. I am 73 now, and horses have been part of my life for as long as I can remember. They have shaped me, humbled me, challenged me, and given me experiences that no words can fully repay.
When you grow up around horses, you learn early that they are not machines, and they are not possessions. They are living, thinking, feeling animals, and they respond to the spirit you bring to them. I learned at a young age that pain achieves nothing. Force creates tension. Fear creates resistance. But kindness, patience, consistency, and trust are the things that build a real horse.
That belief has stayed with me my entire life. It is how I have always ridden, and it is how I have always taught others to ride. Horses are not something to dominate. They are something to partner with. Over the decades I have owned many horses, and I have been blessed beyond measure

by the places they have carried me. I have ridden through steep Australian country where the land demands courage and balance. I have ridden along deserted beaches where the hoofbeats are the only sound in the world. I have followed long stretches of the Australian Bicentennial Trails, where you feel as though time has slowed down and horse and rider are simply part of the landscape.

The horses I have known have given me far more than I ever gave them. They have given me freedom, grounding, joy, friendship, purpose, and unforgettable moments that still live in my heart. Thrive Feed was born out of that lifetime, not out of a desire to create a product, but out of a desire to honour the horse. I am not a feed salesman by nature. I am someone who has loved horses deeply, for an entire lifetime, and who could never accept that “good enough” nutrition is the best we can offer them. I have always believed that feeding a horse should reflect respect, not convenience.
Thrive Feed is not a money-making effort. It is, in the truest sense, a horse-making effort. It exists because I want horses to thrive, physically, emotionally, and athletically, and because I believe that what we put into them should match what they give back to us.
If you are here reading this, I want you to know something simple. This is personal for me. Thrive Feed is the result of decades of riding, learning, listening, and caring. It is my way of giving something back to the animals that have given me the greatest journey of my life.
